Diamond Skies Travel certainly lived up to their name. It felt incredibly easy to discuss our preferences, likes / dislikes etc
We started out with a rather open request of an “active adventure holiday in Europe with some history and culture thrown in…ideally somewhere we hadn’t been before and not too touristy!”
Lucy, Christine and Susi ran with this and came up with what turned out to be a fabulous suggestion of exploring Slovenia.
A relatively small country that packs a big punch - pristine forests, mountains, rivers and lakes, wonderfully set up for exploring - and did we explore! Gorge walking, exploring castles and lakes, mountain biking through the foothills and forests, ziplining through Europes largest zip line park (felt like we were the only ones there), wild swimming dawn through to dusk, hiking in the mountains not seeing another soul, white water rafting (simply awesome), exploring a vast underground cave system (simply awe inspiring), cycling through Ljubljana learning about Slovenian history (so much we had no idea about) and finishing off with “Escape Castle.”
So many happy memories, lots of activities, caves and castles - thank you Diamond Skies Travel for being able to translate our wishes into reality.
We would never have been able to organise and co-ordinate all that we did ourselves, and knowing someone was a text or call away to answer any query or question was super helpful too.

“The trip was absolutely amazing. Just truly wonderful.
I could probably write a small book about everything I enjoyed. So many times, I just looked around and thought “life is amazing”. The gondola ride through some of the quieter canals, the private boat ride on Lake Garda, being surrounded by giant wheels of real parmigiano reggiano, tasting 100 year old balsamic vinegar.
Two experiences that were especially meaningful to me were the Sunday lunch we had at the vineyard and the cooking class in Florence. It felt as if we were taken into their home and made part of their family. And some of the food/wine we were given/made were almost religious experiences. At the table I had to tell everyone that if I started crying, they were happy tears.”
I can not tell you how much I enjoyed the trip. Small groups are the way to travel. Everything you set up was great. Enjoyed it all. Thinking about one island if someone was to visit would be Naxos. Thank you for the towel and water bottle. I will use them both. I will recommend Diamond Skies Travel. Thomas was great.
